Panasonic's newest Pocket Digital Camera
Panasonic has added another pocket sized camera to their LUMIX FS series. The new FS line from Panasonic is a new version of the FX series but is designed to be more affordable. Like its sister the FS5 it is a 10.1 mega pixel that ensures you get great quality pictures. You will be able to get extra large prints without losing clarity. It features a 4 x Leica DC optical and digital zoom lens. When this is combined with or without the extra optical zoom mode you can get digital zoom power of 16x or 28.4x. So whether your subject is close or far away they still come out sharp and clear. The 30 to 120 mm wide angle zoom lens is great for group photos or if you just want to take a shot of a landscape.
It has five intelligent auto functions which allow you to take great pictures with less error. You have the scene mode which has a number of scene settings that allows this small camera to automatically select the right scene for you. Then there is mega optical image stabilization that prevents blurry photos in the event that your hand would shake. The motion blur is controlled by the intelligent ISO control. Then you have the face detection mode that allows you to take clearer pictures by automatically adjusting focus and exposure. With this face detection mode it allows you to take up 15 faces per shot. It even detects if a face is moving. There is a Quick auto focus (AF) mode which allows this small digital camera to automatically start focusing as soon as you point the camera. Finally, the burst mode function on this camera is used when you do not want to let those fast acting shots get away. Depending on the resolution setting you can take 2.5 to 10 frames per second with the burst mode. You will not have to worry if your lighting is right with this compact digital camera because it has a white balance function that you can set manually or on automatic. This way you know you are going to get true to life colors.
One thing that this thin digital camera has over its sister, the DS5, is its large 3.0 inch LCD display. It’s a half inch bigger. Panasonic has made a great effort in this small camera to reduce the noise and shutter lag by adding the Venus Engine IV LSI. You can create your own videos or slide shows with music and play them back on a HDTV. It has 50MB of internal memory and will take SD, SDHC and MMC memory cards. This small and stylish digital camera is another great addition to the Panasonic line. With dimensions of 3.7 x2.2 x.09 you will find that it easily fits in your pocket. It's a great little camera for the beginner or the more advanced photographer. The starting price of this slim digital camera is around $180.00 and comes in Black, Silver and Pink.
